Flowering time: July-September. Annual.

Spikes of white flowers with yellow blotch and purple/black streaks.
Leaves often bronze-tinged. A semi-parasitic plant. Height: 10-20 cm

Habitat: Fields, roadsides, heaths. Dislikes limed or fertilised ground. Locally
frequent. Native. Identification difficult, 20 micro-species, and much hyridisation.

Similar: Irish Eyebright (E.salisburgensis). Brown/purple tinged stem, leaves.
W Ireland on limestone rocks and dunes.
