Spores ripen September-February. Evergreen. Native.

Narrow-oval to narrow-oblong fronds, segments usually more/less untoothed. Rhizome scales 4x long as broad. Sori usually oval.

Prefers more basic substrates than Common Polypody P. vulgare. Rocks, walls, trees. Most frequent S, W, NE Ireland.
