Flowers April-June. Perennial. Introduced.

A fertile hybrid between the native Bluebell Hyacinthoides non-scripta and the introduced Spanish Bluebell, H. hispanica. Paler-blue flowers than the native bluebell with the petal-tips slightly curled upwards. Mauve and white forms also occur. Very vigorous with wider and longer leaves than the native Bluebell, increases by seed and bulbils.

It is the most frequently cultivated Bluebell and hybridises with the native Bluebell. Common garden escape or discard, established and increasing on roadsides, waste ground and in woodland.
