Flowering: March-November. Annual. Possibly introduced.

Long-stalked deep blue flowers with a white eye and pointed, oval sepals are followed by 2-lobed seed capsules with more/less parallel lobes. The dull greyish-green leaves are even-toothed, the lower leaves wider than long. A hairy and usually self-pollinated plant. Height 10-20cm

Scattered distribution on disturbed waste and arable land and in gardens. Most frequent in the south and south-east of Ireland

Similar: Common Field-speedwell, V. persica has a white lower petal
