Solitary bright blue flowers with a white lower lip, the flower-stalks longer than leaves. 2-lobed fruit capsule is broader than high and heart-shaped. Coarse-toothed downy leaves, the lower leaves opposite, upper alternate. A branched, spreading plant with prostrate or semi-erect stems

Abundant in gardens, arable and waste ground, on roadsides and walls.
