Flowering time: March-April. Perennial. Native.

The yellow-rayed flowers appear in spring before the leaves. Leaves are long-stalked, toothed, round to triangular and white-felted below. Spreads rapidly by means of scaly runners. Height: 10-30 cm.

Grows on dunes, roadsides, gravel banks and waste ground.

Similar: Winter Heliotrope, Petasites fragrans has similar leaves but lilac flowers. Introduced.
