Flowering time: May-June. Annual or perennial.

Larger flowers than other water-crowfoots, 15-30mm across. Sometimes
more than 5 petals. Spreading sepals. Young fruit pubescent/downy.
Fruit stalk at least as long as next leaf stalk. Usually submerged and floating
leaves. Floating leaves with long stalk, round or semi-circular with 3-7 obtuse
lobes. Capillary leaves equal or less than stem nodes, collapsing out of water.
