Flowering time: July-September. Perennial. Introduced.

Trumpet-shaped white flowers, the inflated overlapping bracteoles more/less covering the sepals. Seed-set is poor so mainly spreads vegetatively. Climbing or scrambling growth. Several subspecies are recognised and var. quinquepartita has deeply 5-lobed flowers.

Usually near habitation in hedges and on roadsides and waste ground

Similar: Hedge Bindweed, C. sepium. Bracteoles not overlapping.
