Flowering time: July - September. Biennial. Native.

Short-stalked flowers are greenish purple-pink, hairy. Florets longer than hooked sepal-like bracts. Closed in fruit, forming oval, sticky burs. Large wavy-edged leaves, hollow basal stalks, to 40cm long. Stiff branched stems. 60-130cm.
Wood Burdock was previously known as A. minus ssp. nemorosum.

Widespread on drier waste ground, meadows, roadsides, open woodland.

Similar: Greater Burdock, A. lappa. Heavy soils.
