Flowering June - September. Semi-evergreen shrub. Introduced.

Long, terminal spikes with many yellow or occasionally whitish flowers which are followed by flattened, downy seedpods. Erect, bushy growth, height to 3m, the palmate leaves with 7-11 leaflets. The plants are short-lived but produce much long-lasting seed

Occasional on roadsides and sandy ground near Irish coasts, most frequent in the south-east
