Flowering June - September. Perennial. Native.

The yellow flowerheads are in loose corymbs, the involucre bracts woolly-hairy and the hairs with sticky black tips. Leaves are oval or lanceolate, hairless and +/- wavy-toothed. Stems are only branched from the upper part of the stem. Height 30-90cm.

Can be frequent on rocky ground, streamsides and wet pastures in mountainous areas, scattered and occasional elsewhere in Ireland.
