Flowering May - August. Annual. Native.

Pale yellow flowers, the petals often with a red spot at the base, the style very short. Leaves are three-veined, hairy and elliptical, the basal leaves in a rosette, upper stem leaves with a narrow stipule. Germinates in autumn and spring. Height 6-20cm.

Found in the south-west and west of Ireland in bare patches among dry, shallow soil overlying coastal rocks. Sometimes found on ground burnt the previous year.
