Flowering June-July. Deciduous shrub. Native.

The white flowers on smooth stalks are followed by hips that are hairless when ripe and have flat discs and non-persisting reflexed sepals. Leaflets gradually narrow to their base and there are many glands underneath the leaves. Erect growth, usually 1-1.5m.

Calcareous soils, in hedges and scrub. Rare, mainly recorded from central Ireland. Identified by Paul Green
