Flowering: June-August. Perennial. Introduced garden escape.

Many-flowered cymes of yellow flowers, the flowering shoots 15-20cm tall. Erect stem leaves are slightly flattened on the upper side and sharp-tipped. Non-flowering shoots are flat-topped with dead leaves persisting lower on stem. Mat-forming growth. Populations can be variable.

A garden escape or discard and sometimes naturalised on walls and wasteground and in quarries and churchyards. Scattered distribution in Ireland on open, dry, well-drained ground.
