Family: Asteraceae Flowering time: June-October. Annual. Native.

Brownish-yellow ray-less flower-heads, the bracts brownish and pointed. Leaves are alternate, linear-lanceolate, green above and the undersides and stems covered with silver-grey woolly hairs. Much branched from base. Height: 4-20cm

Frequent on compact damp acidic soils on paths, roadsides, field gateways and heaths.

Similar: Heath Cudweed, Omalotheca sylvatica (Gnaphalium sylvaticum) is a very rare perennial.
