Flowering time: July-August. Perennial. Native.

Small pale-pink or whitish flowers with a club-shaped stigma. The narrow lanceolate leaves are pointed, un-toothed and usually stalkless. A slender erect plant with cylindrical stems without ridges and spreading underground stolons. Height 15-60cm.

Frequent throughout Ireland on wet, slightly acidic ground in marshes, bogs and beside streams and lakes.
