Flowering time: June-August. Annual. Native.

The tiny, white 4-petalled flowers are followed by purplish fruit covered by hooked bristles. Square stems with backward-pointing prickles that cling to clothing and animals. Sprawling or ascending growth to 150cm, often growing over fences and other vegetation.

Very common in hedgerows, fields and gardens and on roadsides.
