Flowering time: July-September. Annual. Native.

Clusters of tiny green flowers with 5 fleshy sepals, 5 stamens and 2 stigmas at the base of upper leaves. the fleshy green leaves are linear, pointed and flush purple then red. A very variable branched erect or sprawing plant. Height/spread to 60 cm.

Coastal on salt-marshes, mud-flats and sand and shingle beaches
