Drooping white flowers, 3 styles, cleft petals, not overlapping.
Fragrant. Oval inflated calyx. Pointed oval grey-green leaves.
Usually waxy, hairless, sometimes slightly hairy. Height: 25-90 cm.

Usually found inland. Open grassland, roadsides, prefers sandy ground.

Similar: Sea Campion, S. uniflora.
Coastal. Erect flowers, overlapping petals.
