Flowering time: May-September. Usually perennial. Probably introduced.

White flowers with 5 deeply divided petals. Dioecious, the male flowers have 10 stamens, female flowers have 5 styles and are followed by seed capsules with erect teeth (the capsules of Red Campion curve back). The sticky-hairy leaves are opposite and elliptical-lanceolate.

Waste ground, arable land, roadsides, prefers rich, well-drained ground.
