Flowering time: May-July. Perennial. Native.

Stalkless flowers with a pink or whitish 5-lobed calyx and 5 stamens but no petals. Numerous leafy stems with elliptical or oval fleshy, opposite leaves. Creeping or ascending growth habit and can form dense colonies. Height / spread 10-30cm

Very frequent on salt-marshes, shingle, mud, damp dunes and tidal riverbanks around Ireland coasts.
