Flowering time: May-September. Aquatic annual / perennial. Native.

Minute petal-less green flowers with bright yellow stamens. Fruit as long as wide with winged lobes. The short-stalked bright-green leaves are oval, the upper leaves in floating rosettes. Weak stems.

Frequent in still or slow moving water in ditches and ponds and by lake margins. Also grows on mud and wet tracks.

Similar: Blinks, Montia fontana has small white flowers, fleshier leaves
