Tiny flowers in dense, often leafy spikes, the fruiting bracteoles triangular and weakly toothed. The stalked green leaves are triangular or hastate with two right-angled basal lobes, sometimes slightly mealy and often becoming reddish as plant matures. Prostrate or spreading ridged stems

Frequent near coast, also in southern half of Ireland on waste ground
