White flowers, sepals visible between widely seperated petals. Usually 5-petalled. Fruit produced, but do not ripen to red. Greyish-green leaves, trifoliate. Leaflets oval, toothed, soft-hairy. Stems producing non-rooting runners. Height 5-20cm.

Frequent. Woodland, walls, hedgerows.

Similar: Wild Strawberry, Fragaria vesca.
Flowers April-July. Small red edible fruit.
