Flowering time: April-May. Perennial. Native.

Solitary white flowers with pink-lilac veins and long stalks. Occasionally the flowers are tinged pinkish or slightly mauve. The hairless, trifoliate leaves have drooping, long-stalked leaflets. Creeping growth habit, spreading by thin rhizomes. Height: 5-10cm.

Very frequent on shady moist ground in old woodland, hedgerows and among damp mossy rocks.
