Flowering time: July - August. Perennial. Native.

Erect flowering spikes of bright yellow flowers with orange anthers followed by orange-brown seed heads. Flat, iris-like basal leaves and small, scale-like stem leaves. Height: 10-40cm.

Can be locally very frequent on wet heathlands and sphagnum bogs throughout Ireland.
