Inflorescence with one un-stalked and 2-8 stalked flowerheads. Prominent yellow anthers, longer than filaments. Seeds more/less globular. Leaves with silky hairs, shorter than flower stems. Short rhizomes. Height: Stems 10-25cm.

Widespread and frequent in short open grassland. Fields, lawns, roadsides.
