Flowering: June-July. Annual. Native.

One-sided flower spikes, branched near base or unbranched
with 5-10 stalkless flowers. Narrow, flat, short leaves.
Short, stiff grass with prostrate or erect wiry stems, 5-15cm.

Coastal, can be locally frequent. Walls, waste ground, sea shores. Also found on dunes and cliff tops.
